Today, I had a boy hold my hand for the very first time.

It was the little boy I was babysitting.
He said I was the prettiest girl he’d ever seen. I nearly cried.
He doesn’t know that at school I’m bullied, and called hideous behind my back and to my face.

Today, my best friend posted a hateful message on my formspring.
It was all about how much better she would be with my boyfriend. Her name was not included, but there were events referenced that made it apparent that it was her.
My boyfriend saw it and sent me a 6-text-long message about all of the reasons he loves me.

Today my sister saw an elderly woman from our church sitting alone at a diner.

She left our table to keep her company. The woman was so pleased, she had the biggest smile on her face.

I was crying Saturday night because the next day was Fathers Day, and my dad didn’t care.
A few minutes later I got a text from my friend’s dad saying. “You deserve to have a father in your life, come with us on Fathers Day,”

Today, a woman called us a disgrace.
Our daughter bravely looked at the woman, and said, “Nuh-uh! My daddies are the best ever, and there isn’t anything wrong with them!”

A kid in my class would skip to go get high while we had lunch.
One day he left his stuff in the classroom so I picked it up and completed his notes. He never skipped class again.
Yesterday at graduation his mom said “I don’t know what you did, but we thank you”.
