This is not the best time to do what I'm tempted to do.
I'm sorry, I really am.
I shouldn't have introduced you to it.
We were young, it was wrong.
I wish you'd stop when I told you I've quit.
But you didn't.
It really takes away the pain ; it really does.

One simple question of how's work and you showed me the lines.
We were silent and you told me how you felt relief.
You joked and said you were doing it for the fun of it. Come on, I've been there.
Those were the exact set of lies I used.
I look at you ; unable to verbalize the screaming words in my head, silently, looking at you.
Begging for you to stop ; for all that you're worth.
You're an amazing person. I don't want the scars to cover these truths.
